Firehouse Farms, owned and operated by the Koogle family in Shawnee, Colorado, is a small farm that specializes in goats. Cynthia and Don, along with their son James, manage the farm and ensure that the goats are raised in a happy and healthy environment. The goats produce about two quarts of milk per day, which is sold as raw milk or used to make goat milk soap and other products.
Cynthia was raised with goats for the first part of her childhood and has always been an animal lover. She quickly went from 2 to 10+ goats as her passion for raising goats grew.
She's a DIY person and loves natural solutions, so it only made sense to venture into cheese and soap making along with raising a herd of goats.
James is our public relations guy! A Colorado Native, he got his start with goats as soon as he was born. Once he was old enough, Cynthia got him started milking goats on the farm.
James is helpful all around the farm with his own chores, and even milks two does on his own each day.
